Children's Consignment Store Next To Radio Shack
Why pay full-retail for children's clothes and furniture that they will quickly outgrow?
That's the idea behind Kids Sale, a consignment store that just opened at Liberty Square, in Teays Valley-between Mattress Warehouse Outlet and Radio Shack.
The consignment store gives Putnam County families the chance to save big bucks when shopping for their little tykes. And it gives the owners of the out-grown children's items a way to make some quick cash.
According to landlord 4-S Development, Kids Sale is only a temporary tenant, though they hope Kids Sale will help attract more new businesses to occupy the few vacant store spaces.
This is the third Kids Sale, according to co-owner Lydia Gillespie, who along her husband, Alex, started the chain in August, of 2003, in Ironton, Ohio. They now have stores in Ashland, Kentucky, and Huntington.
Temporary is the key words for Kids Sale, The stores are only opem for one week at a time. The Liberty Square store will close Saturday, March 12th, Lydia says.
"We only open for a week so that can keep our expenses down," she explains "Our consigners enjoy a 70-percent return on their product and our customers love the low prices."
Friday and Saturday, most items drop to 50-percent off "so that we don't have to pack them away," Lydia says. "Melissa and Doug products are 30-40 percent off."
