WINFIELD  GENERALS  TRAP  NITRO  WILDCATS
Kline Leads The Way To Home Court Win

On Friday January 22nd, 2010, the Winfield Generals played host to the Nitro Wildcats for a boys basketball game. 

Winfield was led by the two seniors, Adam Kline 6'4" and Austin Lewis 6'1" and junior Aaron Keefer 6'3". Kline scored 23 points, with two field goals coming on breakaway dunk shots.  Lewis recorded 14 points and Keefer had 15 points.

The game started with a slow pace. The first quarter ended with a score of 8-10 Nitro.  Winfield came back in the second quarter behind the stellar play of Aaron Keefer, (10 points); Lewis, (8 points-including 2 banking 3 pointers) and Kline, (7 points).  They led the Generals to a 27-17 halftime lead.

The second half started like the first half ended, with Winfield dominating. Kline led with 8 points, Lewis scored 4 points - 2 assists and sophomore Cameron Powell scored 4 points.  The Generals led the game after three quarters with a score of 45 to 30. Nitro outscored Winfield 22 to 21 points in quarter four, but the game was still out of reach for The Wildcats and The Generals get the win at 66-52. 

Winfield's scoring was led by Kline with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 1 blocked shot, 5 steals and 2 assists.  Keefer scored 15 points, (1-3 pointer), 6-6 FL, pulled down 6 rebounds, 1 block, 3 steals, drew 2 charges and 4 assists. Lewis recorded 14 points, (2-3 pointers), pulled down 2 rebounds, 5 steals and dished off 4 assists. Junior Ricky Cantrell scored 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal and team high 5 assists.  Sophomore Cameron Powell scored 4 points, 3 rebounds and recorded 2 assists. Junior Josh Steinle recorded a career high 4 points, hit the boards hard with 6 rebounds and 2 steals.  Junior Jordan France had 2 points, 1 steal and 1 charge. Sophomore Zach Gunter recorded 2 assists. Freshman David Gaydosz started the game and recorded 1 rebound and dished out 2 assists.

The General's record stands at a strong 7-4
