Buffalo High School senior Tiffany Sisson has become the newest
student representative
to serve on the West
Virginia Board of
Education. She will
serve during the spring
of this year.

Sisson has
distinguished herself
academically and
through extra-curricular
activities as a student
leader at both Buffalo
High and the Putnam
Career & Technical
Center. At Buffalo, she
is vice president of her
senior class, a cheerleader, and member of the softball team. In addition, she is the recipient of numerous academic awards, including the Young Journalism Writers Award and the Academic Excellence Award. At the Putnam Career & Technical Center, she represents the school as an officer at the state level of SkillsUSA, an organization of students enrolled in technical, skilled, service, and health care training programs.

As a member of the state Board of Education, Tiffany will add her voice to decisions that affect students.  Her input will join that of ten other students who have been selected to serve short terms on the West Virginia Board of Education since the student representative program’s inception in 2007.

Sisson is the daughter of Randy and Becky of Sisson of Buffalo and is the first Putnam County student to serve on the board.
