













The Redskins played another undefeated team The Whitehall Zephyrs (5 - 0). The Maroon and Gold Zephyrs are from the Whitehall Township, south Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania which is near Allentown.
The Zephyrs have distinguished themselves with Pennsylvania and National High School Championships. They play in the Lehigh Valley Conference generally considered one of the best conferences in The Keystone State. White Hall is a public school and has 1,393 students in the 9th - 12th grades.
Whitehall 's starting pitcher senior John Fink and junior Matt Rottet in relief gave up 12 hits and had 2 errors behind them. Junior Peter Handwerk caught the game for The Zephyrs.
The Zephyrs met a buzz saw named The Hurricane Redskins. Sophomore hurler Brett Barber (2 - 0) pitched a complete five-inning game because of the 10 run mercy rule. Brett only gave up two hits and struck out five batters on the Whitehall team. There were no errors behind him.
All-State candidate Brett Barber also helped his own cause as he was 2-for-4 hitting the ball. Barber drove in two runs with a home run.
Having the big bat for The Redskins was senior all state candidate catcher Thor Meeks who was a perfect 3 for 3 hitting the ball and drove in 5 Runs and had two Doubles. All Stater senior shortstop Arik Sikula was a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate and drove in two runs and had a home run. All-State candidate senior centerfielder Cam Dunlavy doubled. All-State candidate junior 3rd baseman (pitcher) Justin Henry doubled. The outfield of Billy Smith and senior All-Stater (pitcher) Kyle Blank also played well in the outfield. Junior Chris Finch played well at 2nd base. Sophomore Mike Gramlich has pitched well this year and is 1 - 0.
Coach Billy Joe Hicks' team keeps rolling along . They are now 9 - 0 on the season.
