Six state championships. Most high school show choirs would do back                                   flips to win ONE state                              championship.                                       Hurricane's Red Hot                                     now has a six pack of                               trophies.

Director Kim Edwards'                              singers and dancers                                     brought home their                                 latest prize March 15th. But their still celebrating in the halls of Hurricane, and who can blame them?

Red Hot took the Grand Championship from the West Virginia Music Educator's Association in a heated competition at the Charleston Civic Center. Hurricane's show choir went head-to-head with choir from throughout The Mountain State.

Judges awarded Red Hot a Superior rating and also honored the choir with Best Choral Sound and Best Choreography under the coaching of Deana Boggs McNeil.

Individual state honors were earned by Casey Edwards, Best Male Vocalist, and Rachel Krall, best female vocalist, her fourth such award this season. Jenna DeVoss earned Outstanding Individual Performer.

Poca High School also performed well during the statewide competition, taking 1st Runner Up. Martinsburg High was 2nd Runner Up with Nitro taking 3rd Runner Up and St. Albans earning 4th Runner Up.
