Fans of Poca High School's "Visual Volume"
enjoyed a sneak-peak
of the show choir's
2010 competition
performance, January
10th.
The students sang and
danced their hearts out
during three
performances in front
of appreciative
audiences as part of
Visual Volume's 2010 Dinner Theater.
The group hopes to reprise its 2009 West
Virginia Grand Championship under the direction of Joseph Kincaid
and choreographer Brooke Smolder.
Kincaid says the dinner theater fundraiser is crucial so that Visual
Volume can tour the area for competition performances.
"We couldn't do this without these fundraisers," says Kincaid. "They
are crucial in today's economy. It costs a lot of money to take a
show choir on tour."
With last year's state championship under his belt, you might think Kincaid is excited about the 2010 season which will take his students to competitions in West Virginia, Ohio, and Tennessee.
"I'm not excited," claims Kincaid. "I'm pretty
mellow. We are working hard and will put on some great shows. The
rest is up to the judges."
Sunday, the show choir put on stellar performances that are sure to
win them awards. To read Visual Volume's 2010 Competition
