SUCCESS...
"To be successful is
to be helpful, caring,
and constructive-
To make everything
you touch a little bit better.
The best thing you
have to give is
yourself."
"MY interest is in the future because I am going to spend the rest of my life there."
"FAILURE
to stand
for what is morally
right is the prelude
to being the victim of
what is criminally
wrong"
THE PASTOR'S CORNER... Jeff Ranson
God Works Upstream
(15) "Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water's edge, (16) the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho."
Joshua 3: 15-16
God is interested in transformation.
God is always at work upstream in our lives.
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28
"giving orders to the people: "When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests, who are Levites, carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it."
Joshua 3:3
Trust what you can't
see and let go of what you can't
control.
See your pain within the bigger picture.
Two different kinds of miracles:
Instantaneous miracles & perseverance miracles.
(7) "But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. (8) We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; (9) persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. (10) We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. (11) For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body." 2 Corinthians 4: 7-11
