Putnam County high schoolers competed in the annual Math Field Day                         competition on                                   February 5, 2008, at                                  Toyota Motor                               Manufacturing, West                             Virginia, in Buffalo.

Students from all four                                  of Putnam’s high                                   schools competed for                              spots on the team that will represent Putnam County Schools in regional competition.

Students completed individual written exams, did mental math, estimation computation, and relays.

“This competition gives students an opportunity to showcase their mastery of content and concepts and is a tribute to the fine teachers they have in all the high schools,” states Putnam County Schools Superintendent Chuck Hatfield.
