Thank You For In The
Kitchen Reports
I just want to say Thank You for publishing
the In the Kitchen reports. As a past
manager for a convenience store with a deli
I appreciate the hard work it takes to keep
the violations down BUT it is
possible. These reports are especially
important during the recent flu season.
Thanks again.

Chamber Is Looking Forward To 2010
It is with great respect that I look back on
2009, but also with great anticipation that
I look forward to 2010 for Putnam County
Chamber of Commerce.
Despite economic adversity, the Chamber
welcomed 46 businesses into its membership.
The Chamber celebrated 20 years of offering
Leadership Putnam County.
The E-billboard service began in April. This
member benefit allows for increased
member-to-member marketing of products and
services.
The Business of the Month program was
established in June. This program provides
additional promotional opportunities for
Chamber members.
More than half of the participants in
November's Chamber Business Expo were new to
the event and provided fresh energy and
enthusiasm.
Every month available in 2010 to host a
Business After Hours event has been booked,
and we even have a waiting list!
The Chamber just launched a new Web site,
and looks forward to members becoming
familiar with it and using its services. The
new site will allow for greater interaction
by both Chamber members and the general
public, offer marketing opportunities and
create greater efficiencies for Chamber
staff.
Putnam Chamber NOW (Network of Women) is
committed to an ambitious "Wellness Series"
schedule presenting greater networking
opportunities for women employed by Chamber
member businesses.
The theme for our annual dinner on January
29 is "Proud Past ... Promising Future."
Help us help you shape this future. Along
with your support, we need your input --
what type of programs, events and services
are important to your business?
Thank you for your past, present and future
support; together, we can make a difference.

What Happened To Global
Warming, Gore?
So has this winter put
Al Gore out of business? I am still waiting
on the global warming to hit. Temps are
rising according to Al Gore. I am at least
happy that he invented the Internet or I
couldn't do this comment.
And it was great to see Mr. Dodd to get out
of the race for re-election. Now Harry Reid
needs to resign. This is 2010. He is stuck
in the racial times and slurs. Thats why
this country is still having the problems
such as these.
And then we have a Senator, Robert C. Byrd,
former KKK, still in office.
It's time to ban gay marriage. There is a
reason men and women are different. Hello
people. And now everything you say has to be
politically correct. If we keep acting like
this, we as a country will fall apart for
good.

Steele Is Comparing Apples To Oranges
GOP Chairman Michael Steele is very
wrong in his comparison of the statements of
former Sen. Trent Lott and Sen. Harry Reid.
Lott made favorable comments about the
divisive and racist 1948 presidential
campaign of Strom Thurmond. Reid merely
rendered an honest and sincere assessment,
in my opinion as a black man, of then-Sen.
Obama's likelihood of winning the
presidency. All Reid was saying is that
Obama would be more appealing to white
America than other blacks who tried for the
presidency before him and and that he had a
better chance than they of actually winning.
Steele is comparing apples to oranges.
As for Rod Blagojevich saying he's blacker
than Obama because he shined shoes or lived
in a five-room apartment, how dare he! Those
experiences don't mean he is blacker. They
just mean he's poorer.
