Lady Dots Declaw Lady Wildcats 19 - 2, 12 - 0

     The Hannan Lady Wildcats made the trek to Poca from southeast Mason County to play the Lady Dots Friday Night April 27, 2007. to play a double header.

     The Lady Dots was playing on high adrenaline this night and coaches Josh Caldwell and David Skeens had the girls playing with plenty of enthusiastism.

On offense there were hits at them everywhere. as they out hit The Wildcats 18 - 1 in both games.

The Lady Dots won game one 19 - 2 and game two was a 12 - 0 shutout. Both was 5 inning mercy rule games ( one 15 run 3 inning rule ). Thanks to the pitching of freshman Brittany Harrison and Hope Quigley pitched the 2nd game . They combined for 26 strikeouts.

Brittany Harrison got the win in the first game, throwing 11 strikeouts , and Poca had 9 hits to none for The Cats. The Lady Cats was the first to score taking a 1 - 0 lead in to the bottom of the first inning. The Lady Dots answered with 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Hannan had the bases loaded with nobody ou on walks t. But The Cats only came away with that single run.

The Lady Dots added 4 runs in the second inning and 1 run in the 3rd inning for a 10 - 1 lead on The Cats after 4 innings of play. The Lady Dots put the game away with 9 runs in the 4th inning ( The Cats added 1 run in the top of the 4th inning.). Thus they stomped The Lady Cats 19 - 2 in the first game. The Cats was led by Arianna and Alisha Leonard , Both got on off Errors. Brittany Edmonds had the pitching loss for the Lady Cats.

 

2nd game

Hope Quigley was overpowering with 15 strikeouts of The Cats. She only gave up one hit in this game. The Poca defense stepped it up even high in this game then they did in the other on defense.

The defense was so strong in this game that The Cats though The Black Death ( The Bubonic Plague of the 13th century killed a third of the people of Europe. ) had hit them. The Black Death was bad in the first game, but the pestilence was even worse in the second game. The pestilence ( Poca defense ) held The Cats scoreless in the second game.

Brittany Edmonds had the only hit for The Lady Cats on the day. Summer Stover took the loss for Hannan and The catcher was Jessey Shannon.

The Lady Dots scored 3 runs in the 1st inning , four more in the second and third and 1 in the 4th to skunk the Lady Wildcats 12 - 0 .

Senior 2nd baseman Krista Dudley had two hits and doubled and drove in three runs in the 1st game.

Senior catcher Loghan Skeens has a pair of hits in both games.

Thursday April 12th The Lady Dots beat two teams in the Ponytail Classic played at the Midland Trail's new softball complex. A tournament The Lady Dots won two years ago. ( some of the games played at Fayetteville City Park ).

The Lady Dots freshman pitcher Brittany Harrison pitched at 1 hitter against  The Lady Mavericks. Poca out hit James Monroe 7 - 1 .

Brittany Harrison led The Lady Dots  and helped her own cause as she was 2 of 3 hitting the ball with a double. Senior catcher Logan Skeens was 2 of 3 hitting the ball. Sophomore Andrea Celorio was also 2 for 3 hitting the ball. And the Lady Dots went on to a 3 - 0 shutout of the Lady Mavericks.

 

Lady Dots Win 2nd game 13 - 2

In the second game Hope Quigley gave up 2 hits and struck out 4 Lady Bobcats on their way to a 13 - 2 thumping of the summers County Lady Bobcats.

Having the big bat for The Lady Dots was sophomore Andrea Celoria who was 3-of-4 hitting the ball. She had a double and drove in two runs. Junior Jamie Cool had 2 hits and doubled . Senior infielder Krista Dudley doubled and drove in two runs.

Also playing well all year - Cassie Craigo, Infielde Brittany Combs,  Chrissie Boggess. Alexis Ward
