












In the pitching duel Buffalo's junior Nicole Dingess won the duel with The Lady Falcons sophomore pitcher Kylie Riggs as she had 7 strikeouts but gave up 6 hits and 4 walks and had 1 Error behind her. While on the other hand Buffalo's Junior hurler Nicole Dingess had a lot more control as Nicole struckout 7 Wahama batters and scattered 5 hits and gave up only 1 walk.
It was Wahama's first loss of the season but was a early season test for both teams since it will be their toughest sectional competition for both teams.
The Lady Bisons and the Lady White Falcons along with Hannan are all in section 1 region 4 in class A. Buffalo knocked Wahama from sectional play last year.
Buffalo ruined the day for Wahama again when The Lady Bisons scored five runs in the top of the third inning to break open a pitching duel that was scoreless up to that point.
The Buffalo girls also capped the scoring when they scored one run in the 6th and 7th inning in skunking The Lady White Falcons 7 - 0.
Buffalo's great control helped the Ladies from Putnam County greatly. In contrast, The Lady White Falcons lack of control moved the Lady Bisons around the base paths.
Wahama and Buffalo are both young teams - Wahama has no seniors, five juniors, 10 sophomores, and seven freshmen.
The Lady White Falcons were led at the plate by freshman outfielder Taylor Hysell who was 2-of-3 hitting the ball, sophomore outfielder Amber Tully, freshman outfielder Kaula Young, and junior 2nd baseman Haley Davis all had a hit for the Lady White Falcons.
The Lady Bisons were led at the plate by senior Brianna Winter who had two hits including a triple. Sophomore Jessica Blake had a triple and drove in two runs. Sophomore catcher Brittany Williams, sophomore centerfielder Kayla Tucker and senior rightfielder Lesley Toney all had a hit in the 7 - 0 victory over the Lady White Falcons.
Also playing well was sophomore leftfielder Amanda Young who besides her golden glove, has at bats this year that have vastly improved.
Senior 2nd baseman Brittany Barnette has played very well at 2nd base.
Sophomore 1st baseman Kaitlyn Scott has played well at first base and she has been good at the plate as well.
Lady Bisons Sweep Wirt County In Twinbill
On Saturday March 31st Buffalo beat Wirt County in a double header.
Buffalo's pitchers dominated the Lady Tigers. Junior Nicole Dingess pitched the first game and gave up no hits or runs in the three run quagmire for the team from Elizabeth in Wirt County.
The 15 run rule saved the hapless Lady Tigers from a worse beatring then the 16 - 0 skunking. Sophmore Briuttany Williams caught both games for Buffalo.
In this game having a big bat for Buffalo was centerfielder Kayla Tucker who was 1-for-1 hitting the ball with a home run.
Sophomore Hannah Lloyd was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate and doubled.
Senior rightfielder Lesley Toney doubled.
The game was only three innings.
In the second game senior Brianna Winter got the win. Junior Nicole Dingess also pitched. Between them they scattered only three hits and were behind 2 - 0 after the top of the 6th inning.
Buffalo showed they have a heart of a champion. The Lady Bisons scored two runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to tie the game and scored a run in the bottom of the 7th inning for a hard fought 3 - 2 victory.
The Lady Tigers pitched two freshmen in the first game. The second game Emma Cox and sophomore Samantha Hardbarger caught.
Having the big bats for The Lady Bisons was sophomore 3rd baseman Jessicia Blake. She was 3-of-4 at the plate, knocked in two runs and doubled.
Sophomores Brittany Herdman and Kayla Tucker doubled.
On defense the Lady Bisons made few mistakes. The outfield of leftfielder Amanda Young, centerfielder Kayla Tucker and senior rightfielder Lesley Toney scooped up anything near them. The infield also played well.
After the Wahama game Buffalo is now 12 - 0 on the season. Wahama is now 6 - 1 on the season.
