Another Putnam County restaurant failed to make the grade during                                   a recent health                               department inspection-                                 and it isn't the first                                     time.

King Chef Chinese                              Restaurant, in Teays                                  Valley, was inspected                                 November 6th, during a routine visit, according to the report posted above this story.

Sanitarian Barbara Koblinksy cited the kitchen for five "Critical" violations and nine "Non-Critical" violations.

The "Critical" violations were:

  1. Eggs at room temperature (74 degrees) at chef station-disposed of.

  2. Egg rolls (container of) 50 degrees in Pepsi reach-in cooler/disposed of.

  3. Knives on wall not stored clean.

  4. Containers used for floor cleaner not labeled/labeled container.

  5. No sanitizer available to sanitize food contact surfaces or equipment.

Koblinsky did not close King Chef down. However, she did order the restaurant to purchase sanitizer immediately with the promise that she would return in a half-hour to make sure the purchase happened.

This is not the first time King Chef failed a Putnam County Health Department inspection. You can read about that inspection by clicking on the link below.
