GW STUDENTS HONOR VETERANS
Special School Assembly Held
Story and photos courtesy of Cherie Carter

At George Washington Middle School they held a Veteran's Day                                       assembly.

Winfield's chapter of                                     the American Legion                                     was there so that                                      Veterans could be                                       honored, recognized,                                   and thanked for their                                priceless service to our                           country.

Mrs. Carr a local                                        historian spoke to the                               students.

Several students, Dustin Reed, Abby Hull, Promise Carter and  Lucresia Hescht read writings they did in class honoring our Military.

Eighth grade English teacher Mrs. Berg Sang and the GWMS Band performed.

Of course, the Veterans proudly presented the United States flag.

Several students that have loved ones overseas were recognized and presented with a rose in honor of their loved one.

It was a wonderful Assembly!
