COTTRILL NAMED CAGER OF THE WEEK
Poca Hoops Star Honored By TPTC
Press release

Teays Physical Therapy Center, Inc. is pleased to present this week’s “Cager of the Week” award to Noah Cottrill of Poca High School.

The Poca Dots are off to a good start for the season.  They have lost some close games but also won some games, including a big win over cross-county rival Winfield early in the season in the Putnam County Classic.  Much of their success is due to the play of sophomore phenom Noah Cottrill.

Last week, in wins over Herbert Hoover and West Side, Noah showed why he is already a committed walk-on to West Virginia University basketball team as a sophomore.  In a win over West Side, Noah scorched the nets, going 10-19 from the field for 34 points and 19 rebounds.

When asked about his success Noah says, “We played together as a team last week, which enabled us to get 2-3 wins.”

Noah also had a huge game against Herbert Hoover in which he went 14-25 from the field for 33 points.  He also had 9 rebounds and 7 assists to go with the scoring effort.  Noah is regarded as one of the best all-around players in the state, if not the best player in the state.

When asked about expectations for the season, Noah said, “We want to win out.  We know it is hard, but every game we feel like we could win and we want to go deep into the post-season.”

When being compared to other players, being a sophomore can make it hard to live up to those comparisons.  Noah said, “If I had to compare myself to anybody, I would compare myself to Phoenix Suns point guard Steve Nash.  He sees the floor so well, and that is what I want to be known for, my vision on the court.  Look for Noah to come into your area and go out and watch this fine young man play the game of basketball like a pro.

Look for Noah and other local area high school athletes to be named next week’s Cager of the Week sponsored by Teays Physical Therapy Center, Inc.
