Most churches welcome sinners. But they would
prefer that they walk in
and have a seat.
Parishioners at St.
Timothy in the Valley
were shocked to arrive
at church Sunday
morning to see a huge
whole in the side of
their sanctuary.
Hurricane Police say
Charles Bibbee, 27, of
Hurricane, drove into
the church March 6th,
while under the
influence of alcohol.
Bibbee is charged with misdemeanor Aggravated DUI, after he allegedly blew a .169.
The Holy Bible teaches against being drunk. It also teaches about forgiveness.
Hard-working construction crews patched up the hole late Saturday night, in time for Sunday morning worship. Members are grateful that no was injured-including Bibbee, who was released on bond after his arrest.
"We had church this morning," says parishioner Sally Holliday. "It looks like they're going to get things fixed fairly quickly."
She had praise for the contractor that came in
on the weekend to put in a temporary wall.
"Sunday service went without a hitch," Holliday adds. "G & G
Builders came in and patched things up. I think everybody is on top
of getting things repaired. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
Fortunately for Bibbee, Holliday's husband, retired Putnam Circuit Judge, J.O. "James" Holliday, won't be hearing the case. He also is a member of the church. But don't be surprised if their son, Marshall Football Coach John "Doc" Holliday, sends down some linemen to help move some bricks.

Publisher’s note:
A criminal complaint is a legal document that is usually filled out
by a law enforcement officer presenting evidence to a judge or
magistrate. The judicial official determines if the officer has
provided enough evidence to issue a complaint or a warrant for a
suspect arrest. Defendants are presumed innocent unless convicted
(or found not guilty) in a court of law.
