Hurricane Middle School eighth grader Claire Allison, a returning
competitor in Putnam
County Schools’ annual
Spelling Bee, has won
the competition. Claire
edged out Eastbrook
Elementary School’s
fourth grader Nathan
Polk in the ninth round

spelled “credentials”
and then “graffiti” to
clinch the title.
Both Claire and Nathan will represent Putnam County in regional
